Black Cherry Bookcase

The client had been looking for about a year for someone to build the bookcase to her specifications. After viewing my profile on CTV's Regional Contact I was contacted and given the opportunity to build this once in a life time Cherry Book case.
With the belief of keeping my money local, I stumbled across a local sawyer who had some old growth cherry lumber (not reclaimed). I purchased 5 pieces of 2x12 x10' Black Cherry boards that would eventually become the bookcase. This wood was perfect and the color was unbelievable. I was very happy that the case was to be left a natural Lacquered finish and not stained. Over the years the cabinet will slowly darken to a deep rich color that only aged Cherry can.
