Oak Clothes Armoire

The clients met me at a Studio tour I did last May. They presented me with a set of specs on what they wanted for their 1800's log home. They had a nook in the master bedroom they wanted to fill, their ceilings were 9'6" so they requested a 8' high cabinet. I designed in some accents to their plan that would compliment the era of the house, such as the solid oak raised panel doors and the crown and dentil molding at the top. They chose the stain and the hardware. The stain was a shade I wouldn't normally choose myself for oak, but it quickly became my favorite stain for oak. I used a orange shellac finish for the interior. Shellac has a very low after-odour which is perfect for enclosed spaces for clothes or linens.

Thanks S & H. It was a fun project to do and you guys were great to work for
